Fun weekends make me happy

This past weekend was great. It was the first weekend in which I've had something to do Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. It was great.

Friday started off by going to work. That wasn't fun but I least I'm getting paid. I've gotta fund my weekends somehow. Friday afternoon Jacqueline, Andrea, and I went to the International Cinema on campus and watched Henry Poole is Here.

*I don't know why this was shown in the International Cinema since it's clearly not international but whatever.*

Then we went to Sammy's to eat dinner. It's a little hole in the wall place on 100 West by Center Street. I decided that I like little hole in the wall places. We got free fountain drinks, free fries, and free add-ons on our burgers. And we also stayed and talked to the girl that worked there for an hour after we were done with our food. She was giving us ideas of what to do on a Friday night, one of her ideas comes into the story later. So after that we went to Spark where I had a mango mojito (pictured below). *Quite good but take out the crap load of mint leaves they stick in it*

After Spark we decided to go dancing, on top of the Wells Fargo parking garage. Just the three of us. It was really fun until a lady started watching us from her apartment. She first came out onto her balcony and then moved to get a better view of us from her bedroom window. So there she is, a dark silhoutte in the window, blinds open, lights on, looking at us. Um, creeper! That's when we decided we should probably leave and she watched us drive away. Creepy, creepy lady.

Saturday, I had planned to go down to the Manti temple but it was a no go :(

Meagan, Jacqueline, and I were heading off bright and early at 8 AM but then I had the brilliant idea of calling Manti to make sure we could come. It's a good thing we did because it would have been a drive in vain. They only take appointments and they were full for the day. So instead we decided to take our trip up north and went to the Bountiful Temple. It was a beautiful day!
After the temple we had lunch at Hires Big H in Salt Lake and then went shopping at The Gateway. We only bought 1 thing, well actually 2, and they are for Kelsey's bridal shower :) Can you guess what we bought?

On our drive back down to Provo we stopped at Ikea where I got this little baby for a buck, originally priced at $4. They had bigger ones but were sold out of them by the time I got there. It was disappointing. We also stopped at Walmart and DI on the way. I bought Twilight and spent that night watching all the extra features.

Sunday was spent in church and then the Draper Temple dedication broadcast. That was the 3rd or 4th temple dedication I've been to and I'm hoping to add the Oquirrh Mountain Temple to the list later on this year.

It was made even better with the perfect weather but then it changed again on Sunday afternoon. So much for the beginning of Spring being last Friday. The weekend was truly spring like up until Sunday when the cold blew back in :(

Stupid Utah and it's deceiving weather.

Oh well, I'm here on my own free will.

Isn't it strange?

Isn't it strange how a 20 dollar bill seems like such a large amount when you donate it to church,
But such a small amount when you go shopping?

Isn't it strange how 2 hours seem so long when you're at church,
And how short they seem when you're watching a good movie?

Isn't it strange that you can't find a word to say when you're praying but..
You have no trouble thinking what to talk about with a friend?

Isn't it strange how we need to know about an event for church 2-3 weeks before the day so we can include it in our agenda,
......but we can adjust our agenda for other events at the very last minute?

Isn't it strange how difficult it is to learn a fact about God to share it with others;
.....but how easy it is to learn, understand, extend and repeat gossip?

Isn't it strange how we believe everything that magazines and newspapers say but...
We question the words in the Bible?

Isn't it strange how everyone wants a place in heaven but...
They don't want to believe, do, or say anything to get there?

I suck at life

I suck at life. I haven't been able to function since I started reading the Twilight saga. I didn't stick to my original plan of only reading them on the weekends. I've completley forgotten my school obligations and have only been reading Twilight. I'm almost done with Breaking Dawn. I keep telling myself and my friends that once I'm done I'll be able to function again but I wonder if that's true. I sure hope so cause this sucks.

How pathetic am I?

Last night I watched Eagle Eye for the first time ever courtsey of Redbox.

I'm a little embarassed to admit that I cried at the end. How pathetic am I? I also watched Nights in Rodanthe and I think it would be a little more acceptable to cry in that movie considering how it's a chick flick and it's by Nicholas Sparks but no, instead I break down during an action movie. So really, how pathetic am I?

P.S. I love Shia LaBeouf.

Hooray for March!

Hooray for March! Even though we have no breaks this month I'm excited for this month. My reasons are listed below.

  • The first week in March is over which means it's all downhill from here. This past week was a bit hellish. I had 3 exams and 3 papers. (I still have 2 out of those 3 exams and it's the weekend :( I bet you can guess what I'll be doing this afternoon and tomorrow morning.) And Andrea and I went to the Draper open house again :)
  • I get to go to dinner at Emily and Nicole's apartment tonight!
  • I get to go to the Draper Temple dedication on the 22nd!!! Hooray for temples!
  • March signifies the beginning of Spring! (Although being in Utah, Spring comes whenever it feels like it or mixes in a little Winter here and there until it suddenly gets ridiculously hot.)
  • I'm going to hopefully visit the Manti temple sometime this month. I want to visit all the temples in Utah.
  • I get to go shopping at Ikea! Since I'm moving this Spring/Summer again I won't have anything for my kitchen. I've got to go get my own stuff! And Ikea is the best place to go buy a crap load of stuff at once.
  • This month will be over in 3 and a half weeks which means I'll be completely done with this semester in 6 and a half weeks!

April will be utterly awesome!

Clara's birthday!

Clara's birthday was on Friday, February 27 and she turned 7!!! Next year I get to fly home to go to her baptism!! Hooray.

Since I'm not home and can't give her an actual birthday present, I had my mom give her one for me. Friday I was thinking about what I could possibly give her since I'm not home. I had no idea and then it clicked. She could go to Build-A-Bear and make her own bear.
I felt bad for the twins because they want one too but my mom convinced them they could go for their birthday. So they behaved. So Clara's bear is actually a rabbit named Mony, after me, who is wearing a Texas shirt, a denim skirt, sandals, and plays a Hannah Montana song. Isn't she cute? It melted my heart a little bit when she told me.

I hope this bear stays with her for a while. I still have a huge Pooh Bear I got when I was 9. It's been a while.
